Just a little update.

We are still moving forward with Amber. She did have a few seizures last night but they feel like they can control these ones and they are still moving forward waking her up. She will open her eyes, though she is not very coherent yet. She can't talk or respond (like we thought she might be able to last night) and her eyes aren't yet focusing. But we believe she is listening. We are all grateful for anything we can get. She could be waking up throughout the week (or longer) just a little at a time.

We are still confident and have faith she will make a full recovery, but we have a ways to go. It's definitely a miracle that she is where she is right now. It's just going to continue to take time.

Thank you once again for the continued love and support you show our family and for your prayers for her full recovery!

  1. I don't know Amber personally, but I used to babysit JP and his sisters. I am sorry to read about the things your family is going through, and am grateful for the recent posts that can help to give us all more hope in Ambers future. Amber and the Dr's are in our prayers. We pray the dr's may be sharp on their feet and exact in knowing how to treat Amber. It sounds like she is in great hands at this hospital. I believe in miracles and know that H.F. is aware of everything you are going through. We pray for all involved and are grateful for your updates.

  3. I can hardly wait to see your smiling face and to talk to you again. You are an inspiration to me, Amber. You are a woman of great strength and wisdom beyond your years. Because of this experience we have been drawn closer to you and have come to know our Heavenly Father even better. I am so grateful for the opportunity I have been given to know you. See you soon...Much love, Susan Gunnell

  4. My name is Marsha Boyd and my daughter is Julie Boyd. I met your daughter at the mall right after she had her daughter. Julie was so excited for me to meet Amber. Julie lives in what used to be Ambers ward in Springville. She always told me what great Relief Society lessons she gave. Julie really loved talking to her and lived in the Willows close by. Amber has been a great example and friend to Julie. We will continue praying for her.
I am from Kentucky, but visit often. Our prayers are with all of you.

  6. Amber and family:

Jenny Poulson is doing a great job of us keeping us up to date on all of your progress. Amber, you are one tough girl, and with all of your kindness, sweet sense, and great insights, you are a fighter!! I have no doubt that you will beat this, like you have beat many hard things you have experienced. Please know that you have a huge "fan base" and so many who love you, are praying for you and are cheering you on!

    Lots of prayers and hugs,

  7. Oh sweet Amber. You will always be very special to me. I just wanted you to know I think about you and pray for you each day.
It was such a joy to have you in Young Women's back in the Crescent View Ward. I loved the spirit and energy you brought to activities. I still remember the Daddy-Daughter activity in the mountains and how much fun it was! We took pictures of you girls with your Dad and it was evident that you had such a special relationship with your dad. It was evident by the way you looked at him and hugged him.
I remember Youth Conference and absolutely loving watch you and your brother play the guitar and sing. You are so talented and beautiful and one of the most genuine loving people I know.
I can never repay you for everything you did for my daughter Emily growing up. When she was struggling, you saw a need and gave of yourself and showed an unconditional love to her. I remember you coming by to pick her up to go jogging and I remember Emily telling me about your visits and how much she loved you. She looked up to you so much!
You are very special to me and I love you!!
We are praying that the Lord's choices blessings will be with you and your sweet family!
    All my love,
    Susie Bytheway
